On Thursday, 26th March 2026, members of the School Council proudly represented our school in The Great British Spring Clean, the UK’s biggest annual environmental campaign. Each year, more than 400,000 volunteers from across the country take part, helping to clear litter from streets, parks, beaches, and local communities. This year, our School Council boys joined them.
Armed with litter pickers, the pupils spent the afternoon cleaning both the school site and the surrounding streets. They worked in teams to collect rubbish and make the local area safer and more pleasant for everyone. Their enthusiasm and teamwork showed real pride in their community.
Their actions clearly reflect the message of Laudato Si’, where Pope Francis reminds us that “the world is a gift which we have freely received and must share with others.” The boys certainly lived out this message by protecting and caring for the environment around them.
The boys commented on how rewarding it felt to make a visible difference, and staff praised their positive attitude and sense of responsibility. By taking part in this national campaign, the School Council has set a fantastic example of environmental stewardship and community spirit.
We are extremely proud of their efforts and hope their work inspires more pupils to get involved in future projects that help protect our local environment.
