Last week, we celebrated our patronal feast day with various activities that brought the school community together in joyful celebration and reflection.
The day began with the much-anticipated St Cuthbert's Mile, where our Sixth Form boys organised the annual fancy dress fun run in aid of CAFOD. It was a fantastic event, with students and staff donning creative costumes while raising money for a worthy cause.
In addition to the run, a group of staff and Year 12 students embarked on a special pilgrimage, walking across the causeway from the mainland to Holy Island, the place where St. Cuthbert lived and served Christ’s Church. This meaningful journey provided an opportunity for reflection and connection with the spiritual heritage of our patron saint.
The day also featured a visit from Fr. Paul, O Carm. who celebrated Holy Mass for and with us, in honour of the feast day. His words reminded us of St Cuthbert’s enduring legacy of faith, compassion, and service to others.
In this Jubilee Year, all pupils participated in creating keys of hope—personal reflections on their hopes and dreams for the future. This project encouraged the boys to think about the values that guide them, helping to instil a sense of purpose and hope for the years ahead.
