- Congregation for Catholic Education 1977
Pastoral care lies at the heart of life in our Catholic school. We are committed to the cura personalis – the care of the whole person – rooted deeply in our Catholic identity and the belief that every individual is made in the image and likeness of God (cf. Genesis 1:27).
This principle guides all that we do in supporting our pupils' spiritual, emotional, moral, and social development.

Our pastoral care is not an additional aspect of school life; it is foundational to our mission of forming great men—a vision that seeks to shape young people of integrity, compassion, faith, and purpose. As Pope Francis reminds us, “Education is an act of love; it is like giving life.” This belief is reflected in the way we accompany each student on their journey, recognising their dignity, supporting their growth, and nurturing their unique gifts.
Inspired by the Catholic tradition, we aim to form the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. The Church teaches that,
“The task of the school is to foster the formation of the whole person... through a synthesis of culture and faith, and of faith and life”
(The Catholic School, 1977).
Our pastoral approach is built on relationships of trust, mutual respect, and compassion, ensuring that each boy is seen, heard, and valued.
Pastoral care is integrated across all areas of school life—from the classroom to co-curricular activities, from chaplaincy and liturgy to mentoring and personal support. It is through this holistic and faith-filled care that we strive to ensure every boy and young man grows not only in knowledge and skill, but in character, conscience, and commitment to others.

Living Out the Cura Personalis
In our Catholic tradition, every boy is recognised as a beloved child of God, created with unique gifts and called to grow in virtue, wisdom, and service.
Our vision is to form great men—young men of competence, conscience, compassion, and commitment, who will use their gifts for the good of others.
To support this, our pastoral care is woven into every aspect of school life. Structures such as the Head of Year, Form Tutor, Chaplaincy, and wider support teams work together to provide cura personalis—care for the whole person. Through daily presence, attentive guidance, and authentic relationships, they ensure that each pupil is known, valued, and accompanied on his journey toward becoming the person God has created him to be.
