The Sixth Form Experience

Our Sixth Form marks the final stage of a seven‑year journey in which boys grow into confident, principled young men. Guided by our vision of forming great men, the Sixth Form offers a positive, rewarding and ambitious environment where students are encouraged to lead, excel and take increasing ownership of their learning. With high‑quality teaching, strong pastoral support and rich opportunities for enrichment, students build on firm foundations and prepare for life beyond school. These two years allow them to refine their character, broaden their horizons and leave fully equipped—academically and personally—for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

In Their Words

The strongest insight into Sixth Form life comes from the boys themselves. Through these short interviews, students share their experiences of the final stage of their school journey—the independence they value, the challenges they have embraced, and the opportunities that have shaped their growth. Their reflections offer an honest and engaging picture of what it feels like to step into senior roles, pursue subjects they love, and prepare for life beyond school. Together, their voices capture the maturity, ambition and sense of purpose that define our Sixth Form.

Staff are supportive and enthusiastic to help, going the extra mile. A tight knit community of brothers helping each other succeed.

Uniform

At St Cuthbert’s, we are proud to be a strong and united school community, and for many of our boys this journey lasts seven years. Wearing the Sixth Form uniform is an important part of belonging to that community. It reflects the respect our students have for themselves, for one another, and for the school they represent. The uniform gives our Sixth Formers a clear sense of identity and continuity, marking them as senior members of the school while modelling high standards for younger pupils. We take great pride in this tradition, and we encourage our students to do the same.
