The Savio Centre is a welcoming and supportive space at the heart of our school, inspired by the life and example of St Dominic Savio, the young student who showed that holiness can be lived through kindness, joy, and everyday acts of goodness. Known for his desire to help others and for his simple yet powerful motto, “I want to be a saint,” St Dominic reminds us that every young person can grow, flourish, and become the best version of themselves with the right guidance and encouragement. Reflecting his spirit, the Savio Centre offers pupils a calm and nurturing environment where they can find support throughout the school day, emotionally, academically, or socially, so that they can take a full and active part in school life. Here, every pupil is valued, listened to, and empowered to thrive.

“I am not capable of doing big things, but I want to do everything, even the smallest things, for the greater glory of God.”

St Dominic Savio

The Savio Centre is a supportive space designed to help pupils who have this provision included in their pupil profile or consistent approach plan. To ensure that the Centre remains a calm and purposeful environment for those who need it, pupils should only attend when this has been agreed in advance. Some pupils may occasionally require the Savio Centre as a safe and quiet place; when this is the case, they will be noted on the Savio register as occasional or safe‑space users so staff can support them appropriately. Pupils who are not recorded on the register will be encouraged to return to their lessons so that their learning is not disrupted. If a pupil repeatedly attempts to access the Savio Centre without prior agreement, the school will follow its usual behaviour procedures to help them make positive choices.
