Today marked a poignant and proud milestone at St Cuthbert’s as we bid farewell to our Year 13 students – young men who leave us having spent the past seven years growing in faith, character, and knowledge within our Catholic community.
In keeping with our mission of forming great men, the celebration was a fitting tribute not only to the students themselves, but also to the dedicated staff who have supported, guided, and challenged them along the way.
The celebration began with Holy Mass, celebrated by Fr Paul O.Carm, who offered prayers of thanksgiving and hope for the journey that lies ahead. It was a beautiful, reverent occasion that reminded us of the deep spiritual roots that unite us as a school family.
Form Tutors presented each student with a personal card, sharing words of encouragement and reflection. These small tokens carried great meaning – a reminder of the relationships built over years of shared experience.
Following Mass, the students enjoyed refreshments and a joyful gathering filled with laughter, memories, and many heartfelt expressions of gratitude. The Sixth Form team were at the heart of the occasion, and special thanks were offered to Mr Turner, Head of Sixth Form, and Mrs Garay, Assistant Head of Sixth Form, for their unwavering dedication and care for each of the boys.
As these young men step beyond the gates of St Cuthbert’s, we are confident that they carry with them the values of competence, conscience, compassion and commitment. They go with our prayers and every good wish for the future, knowing they will always remain part of the St Cuthbert’s family.
To our Year 13 leavers: thank you. You have left your mark on this community, and we are proud of the great men you are becoming.
May God bless you always.
