This year’s Interhouse Sports Days was a tremendous success, showcasing not only the athletic talents of our students but also the pride and identity of our four school houses: St. Aidan, St. Bede, St. Hild, and St. Oswald.
Across the week, each year group had its own dedicated Sports Day. The morning sessions saw all pupils take part in team sports, including dodgeball, rounders, and football. With the help of our dedicated PE staff and enthusiastic Year 12 student leaders, each event ran smoothly and fairly.
In the afternoon, selected pupils from each house represented their form in a range of track and field events such as the 100m, 800m, high jump, discus, and the ever-popular 4x100m relay. The atmosphere was electric as pupils cheered on their houses from the sidelines, wearing house colours with pride.
Points were accumulated across each event and year group to determine an overall winner. After a close competition, St. Aidan House emerged as the overall champions with an impressive 234 points, narrowly beating St. Hild House who finished with 230. The final standings were:
House | Year 7 | Year 8 | Year 9 | Year 10 | Total |
Aidan | 49 | 54 | 63 | 68 | 234 |
Hild | 46 | 58 | 69 | 57 | 230 |
Oswald | 59 | 54 | 51 | 47 | 211 |
Bede | 40 | 39 | 53 | 57 | 189 |
Congratulations to St. Aidan's House on their well-earned victory. A celebration event was held to present the trophy in Year 7s Assembly, with the Aidan House Lead proudly accepting the award on behalf of the team.
Thank you to all staff, student leaders, and participants who made Interhouse Sports Days a memorable celebration of effort, sportsmanship, and house pride.
