GCSE Results 2017
We have maintained our position of gaining a strong set of results as our students once again demonstrate that in a supportive aspirational environment their hard work reaps high rewards.
Headteacher Mrs Davison commented; ‘This cohort of students are the first to receive results under the numerical system in English Literature, Language and Mathematics where examinations were taken at the end of a two year course rather than modules. The content was more challenging with more substantial texts in English Literature and a number of new topics in Mathematics. For our students to achieve as exceptionally well as they did in this ever changing and demanding educational landscape makes me feel so incredibly proud and privileged to lead this tremendous school of aspirational boys and inspirational teachers. ‘
Congratulations go to the following students for exceptional performance in all subjects;
Elliot Laidlaw, Michael Kobylukh, Loius Nguty, Seamus Walsh, Muhammad Momin, James Pahamtang
Well done to all of our students, we wish them well for their future.
A level/BTEC Results 2017
Our summer A level and BTEC results built on the success of outstanding inspection judgements to produce a superb set of examination results in 2017 with record numbers of students achieving top grades.
Head teacher, Mrs Davison, commented,
‘I continue to be delighted at the way our students improve year on year in an ever-changing educational landscape. Students have secured first choice university places across a range of highly competitive research-led universities including Oxbridge and Durham. I am delighted that the school continues to send students on to highly demanding courses such as Medicine and Law, with Hussain Ahmed, Adam Alderson and Kieran Ferris-Bureau all taking up places at Medical School.
I am delighted that for the third year running, a third of A level grades achieved A*/A and nearly half of all results are at A*/A or Distinction*. Three quarters of students achieved at least one A*/A or Distinction* grade and nearly 85% of A level grades achieved A*-C. A quarter of students achieved top grades (A*/A – A level, Distinction*/Distinction – BTEC) in all their subjects.
‘I am equally proud of students who have been successful in winning highly-sought-after training places within prestigious firms and the civil service. Particular congratulations go to Jaysel dela Cruz, Aidan Donnelly, Daniel Lockey and Adil Tariq, all of whom will start their training with top tier employers such as Ernst Young.
‘These results complete an outstanding year for the school following being awarded Teaching School Status in June 2017. Many congratulations to students, their families and the staff for their energy and passion for learning, which has seen our students take the next step on becoming influential members of society.’
