We believe in offering a broad range of healthy meals in our re-designed dining area. Hot and cold food and drink is available before school, during morning break and at lunchtimes. The dining area is cashless and operates on a fingerprint reader system. This is much better for students as it means that there are no issues with lost dinner money.
Water Bottles – We encourage all students to have water bottles in school. We provide filtered water to keep them hydrated throughout the school day. Free school meals will save families well over £350 a year per child. If you think you might qualify please apply on-line via the link below. If you are unsure whether or not you are eligible it is our strong advice that you apply.
Walking and Cycling
Wherever possible students are advised to walk or cycle into school. There is plenty of secure, covered space for bikes to be locked.
If students are being dropped off, parents should use the dedicated PICK UP and DROP OFF area, located off Fox and Hounds lane. Parents should not use GRETNA ROAD for pick up an drop off as it is a residential area.
We are easily accessible by public transport with Stagecoach in Newcastle services 10, 11, 39 and 40 providing a frequent service from the City Centre and the West End of the City. You should alight at the stop for the West Road Crematorium, walk up the West Road and then take the first right along Gretna Road, keep walking and we are on the left hand side further up the road.
Students in Tyne and Wear are entitled to reduced travel costs on the production of an U-16 card or a Teen Ticket, visit the NEXUS for more information.

We are pleased to offer two school bus routes both before and after school.
The 105 and 131 services both make the return journey, leaving the school pick up/drop off area at 15:25.
