Newcastle Poetry Festival
Thomas Probyn (Year 10) wins poetry festival prize.

As part of the Newcastle Poetry Festival, young people across the North were invited to submit poems for the first Young People's Poetry Prize.

Thomas Probyn (Year 10) submitted a wonderfully crafted poem about the inauguration of the Tyne and Wear Metro and its legacy in our local community. Poet Phoebe Power selected Thomas’ poem as one of the 12 winners of the prize, and he was invited to share his winning poem with an audience at the Northern Stage on May 4th including his family and Mrs Evans. We are so proud of Thomas’ success and excited about the prospect of further literary endeavours from our students.
