Our School Chapel

At St Cuthbert's, we provide a wide range of support services to help you achieve your goals...
The Learning Mentors are in school to offer support to students and help them to fulfil their potential. The help on offer may be academic, concerned with particular subject topics, or it could be advice on time management and revision/study skills. If we don't have the answer to a problem, we will know someone who does!  We are in our offices before and after school and at breaks and lunchtimes. Students are free to come and see us if they feel in need of a helping hand. Miss Holgate, Mr Davis and Mrs Lewis are always on hand to help.
Progression Coach, Sarah Garay, is available to offer help and advice to Years 12 & 13.  She also works with younger pupils to help them consider the full range of opportunities available to them in the future.

The Chaplain - Ms Catherine Wallis-Hughes

The role of the Chaplain, working with other staff, with students and with with local clergy is of great importance to the church and school community. The Chaplain, on behalf of the church, cares for the spiritual life of everyone at school. Thus, acting in a supportive and resourceful manner, the Chaplain represents the faith community’s concerns for all its members, especially those who wish to:

  • celebrate their faith;
  • deepen their faith commitment;
  • explore the values of Christ as lived in the church community;
  • have someone who is a caring and spiritual presence among them.

The Chaplain works closely with all members of the School Staff as part of the overall Pastoral Care offered here at St. Cuthbert’s Catholic High School.

 What does the Chaplain do?

 ‘Everything and nothing - the Chaplain is just here with us’

(Quote from a sixth form student)
