MATHEMATICS AT KEY STAGE 3
On average 85% of students from 2006 – 2008 have achieved level 5+ in SATs
Students receive typically a minimum of 1 hour of homework per week, they have 6 one hour lessons in a 2 week timetable. Years 7, 8 and 9 are streamed on the basis of general ability.
The use of ICT in teaching is considered an important component of the course, with interactive whiteboards in all teaching rooms.
MATHEMATICS AT KEY STAGE 4
On average 70% of students from 2006 – 2008 have achieved grades A* - C in GCSE mathematics.
In Key stage 4, pupils work in sets according to their ability in mathematics rather than their average performance over all subjects. Students in years 10 and 11 alpha sets 1 – 4 study for GCSE following AQA Specification Option 4306H with all other students following AQA Specification Option 4307H/F (modular).

MATHEMATICS POST 16
85% of students in 2008 achieved grades A - B

GCSE resit course
There are currently approximately 60 students studying mathematics post 16. They have 10 one hour lessons in a 2 week timetable for the A-level course, more for Further Mathematics.
