Welcome to St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School – an outstanding Catholic school in the North East.

Mrs C Davision

I hope you find this website useful in giving you a flavour of what makes our school distinctive. To understand what makes us such a vibrant community I warmly invite you to visit us.

St Cuthbert’s has an excellent reputation for educating young men. Our boys benefit from learning in an enriching environment where there are no stereotypes. They excel in a wide range of subjects with a focus on mastering the core curricular areas and developing a lifelong love of learning. Students achieve extremely high standards across the curriculum and well beyond it, demonstrating creativity, intelligence and resilience. Co-educational experiences are plentiful through partnerships with Sacred Heart High School and Newcastle High School for Girls.

We prepare our students to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world with confidence. Faith, leadership and learning underpin all that we do, helping our boys develop into thoughtful, compassionate, caring young men. Volunteering and service lie at the heart of our leadership opportunities, ensuring our students become the leaders of tomorrow.

By focussing on the enrichment and development of character, in our experience exam success follows naturally. Strong public exam performances allow our students to progress to a range of challenging, rewarding destinations, both at university and in the world of work.

We are recognised for our outstanding outcomes by Ofsted and Section 48 and we are a National Teaching School and National Support School.
